The rules for using SharpPoint: what we do, what we expect from you, and what happens if something goes wrong.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and SharpPoint Corporation (“SharpPoint”, “we”, “us”), based in Monrovia, Liberia. They apply when you create a SharpPoint account or use the SharpPoint app. By doing either, you accept them.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.

2. SharpPoint is still in development

SharpPoint is not yet open to the public. While we test it with a limited group of people, features may change, be unavailable for periods, or be removed. During testing, payments in the app are simulated and do not move real money, unless we tell you otherwise.

SharpPoint is not yet licensed by the Central Bank of Liberia. We will not offer payment services to the public until we hold the authorisations the law requires.

3. What SharpPoint does

SharpPoint connects the mobile money wallets and bank accounts you already have, so you can pay and get paid across networks, and so businesses can accept payments, pay staff and track their sales.

SharpPoint does not hold your money. Payments move directly between accounts held at mobile money operators and banks, and your balance stays with them. Their own terms and fees also apply to your accounts with them.

4. Who can use SharpPoint

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
  • The information you give us must be true, and you must keep it up to date.
  • You may hold one personal account. Each business account must be opened by someone the business has authorised to act for it.
  • We may ask you to prove who you are before you can use some features or higher limits, and we may refuse an account where the law or our risk checks require it.

5. Keeping your account secure

  • Keep your password, your authenticator app, your recovery codes and your phone safe, and do not share them. Anyone who has them can act as you.
  • You are responsible for what is done through your account.
  • Tell us straight away at support@sharppointcorp.com if you think someone else has used your account.

To protect you, we may require two-factor sign-in — for example once your identity is verified to a higher level or you link a bank account — and limit payments and wallet changes until it is set up. We may also pause sensitive actions for a short time after a password reset.

6. Making and receiving payments

  • You authorise each payment when you confirm it in the app. Check the recipient and the amount before you confirm.
  • Once a payment is complete, SharpPoint generally cannot reverse it. If you paid the wrong person, contact them, and contact us — we will help where we can.
  • If a payment fails partway, it is reversed according to the rules of the operators and banks involved.
  • Limits apply to payments and to some business features, and may depend on your plan and how far your identity is verified.
  • We may delay, refuse or reverse a payment where we reasonably suspect fraud or a breach of these terms, or where the law requires it.

7. Plans and fees

Every account starts on the free plan. Paid plans add features and higher limits. The price of a plan is shown in the app before you choose it. It is charged once, from a wallet you have linked, when you choose the plan; nothing renews or is charged again automatically. Your mobile money operator or bank may charge its own fees.

You can move to a higher plan at any time; moving to a lower plan is not available yet. If we change a price, we will tell you before the change takes effect. If you delete your account, your paid plan stops and is not refunded; if you restore your account within 30 days, the plan comes back.

8. Business accounts

  • The owner of a business account is responsible for the people they add — team members, staff and collection agents — and for what those people do with the access they are given.
  • If you enter information about other people, such as staff and payroll details, you must have the right to share it with us for that purpose.

9. What you must not do

  • Use SharpPoint for fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing or to evade sanctions.
  • Buy or sell anything illegal, or receive the proceeds of crime.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or use another person’s account or payment details.
  • Try to break into, disrupt, overload or copy our systems, or get around any security measure or limit.
  • Use SharpPoint in any way that breaks the law.

10. Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used for fraud or puts other people at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why.

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Security & login → Delete account), or without the app. It closes straight away and can be restored for 30 days — if you have forgotten your password, reset it from the sign-in screen, then sign in and choose Restore account. After 30 days it is deleted and cannot be restored. Payments and payouts still being processed, orders still being agreed, and orders your businesses were paid for in the last 14 days must be finished first, and any team members of your businesses must be removed. We keep some records after deletion, for the periods and under the Central Bank of Liberia rules set out in the Privacy Policy.

11. Our app and your content

SharpPoint, its app, name and logo belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app under these terms. You keep ownership of what you add, such as your profile picture and product catalogue, and you allow us to store and show it as needed to run SharpPoint.

12. Our responsibility to you

We work to keep SharpPoint available and secure, but during development it is provided as it is, and we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by mobile money operators, banks, phone networks or other events outside our reasonable control.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the fees you paid SharpPoint in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Liberia. If a dispute cannot be settled by talking to us first, it will be decided by the courts of Liberia.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as SharpPoint develops. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using SharpPoint after that, the new terms apply.
